Career Exploration/Supported Education

Often, the first step towards the individual’s education and or employment goals is through exploration of the person’s interests and capital. Through a contract with the Rehabilitation Services Administration, we offer Career Exploration and Supported Education services to members looking to build a career path for their future

Career Exploration allows the individual to plan their immediate and long-term life goals. The RI Career Center supports the individual through:

  • Classes and/or workshops on career planning
  • Career counseling
  • Interest Inventories and assessments
  • O*NET and other career database searches
  • Support in market surveys
  • Externships (job shadowing)

The RI Career Center employs employment coaches, career counselors and rehabilitation counselors to guide the student through the process of self-exploration and into their individualized intellectual and/or vocation pathway.

Supported Education follows the student from the choosing their career path, to finding the right school to complement their needs, through entrance and enrollment, graduation and alumni services
