In February of 2015 Arizona’s Department of Health Services (ADHS) reviewed RI’s Community Building program for fidelity against the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) model for Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH).

The review consisted of a 28-item scale that assessed the degree of fidelity to PSH along 7 dimensions:

  • Choice of Housing
  • Functional Separation of Housing and Services
  • Decent, Safe and Affordable Housing
  • Housing Integration
  • Right of Tenants
  • Access to Housing, and
  • Flexible, Voluntary Services

Interviews were conducted with Leadership, Recovery Coaches, and Participants. Documentation and records were also reviewed.

RI received the highest score for reviews completed to-date in Maricopa County for PSH fidelity, and RI International’s Community Building Program met ADHS and SAMHSA’s Evidence Based Practice Criteria with a score of 20.74 / 28!
