Recovery Services Administrator
Wellness Cities – Arizona
I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker with more than ten years of experience in social services. I joined RI International as a Recovery Services Administrator (RSA II), heading up the Wellness City at our Cambridge Court campus in Phoenix. Before RI I worked as a Case Manager for the Veteran Administration Health Care System in Phoenix, and also served as a Crisis Supervisor and a Dispatcher for the Crisis Response Network. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies and a Masters of Social Work from Arizona State University.
I’m passionate about working for RI International because of my commitment to helping others. My father was an immigrant who could not read or speak English. Growing up I witnessed the racism he experienced because of his difficulty adapting to a new culture. At an early age I became his translator, which meant supporting him at doctor’s offices, job searches and helping him learn to read and write English. I sought out social work because I wanted to continue to be an advocate for those who felt they had no voice.
What I love about RI International is that I’m given the opportunity to work in a partnership with our participants, allowing them the choice to make decisions that will help them achieve their hopes and dreams. It’s a community that truly believes recovery is possible and I’ve been witness to that countless times. I hold true to the mission of RI and my personal passion of advocating for others, while helping to empower them with a voice to make change possible.
Fun Fact: I grew up playing sports. I’ve always enjoyed playing basketball, golf, soccer and jogging during my free time. I also enjoy an adrenaline rush riding my dirt bike in the desert with my husband. When I need relaxation I spend my time fly fishing, hiking or camping with my family.
