Contra Costa Programs

April Langro grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and began studying Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999. There she met her husband, a nuclear engineer in the United States Navy, and together they lived and worked in Wisconsin, Virginia, and New York before entering civilian life in 2009 when they relocated to California to start a family. With great passion, enthusiasm and hope April committed herself to the field of human services and has been serving people for the past 15 years as a juvenile detention facility counselor, day habilitation program coordinator, residential program manager and foster care recruiter/trainer for an adult family home agency.

Now, April serves as the Recovery Services Administrator of three Wellness Cities in Contra Costa County and is a trained Instructor for Therapeutic Options as well as ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training). RI International affords April the opportunity to utilize her strengths in writing, redirecting behavior, providing quality care and support to clients, implementing change, training and empowering staff, and ultimately providing a safe and positive environment in which to grow. April has and will always operate through hard work, humor and a higher power.
